Facebook and the need?

After high school I don't see the need for it. Why try to keep up with friends you'll never speak with face to face ever again? Proximity, or how close you are (literally) is very important in a friendship just like it is in a relationship, and if you'll hardly ever/ never see them again, there's no point. The friendship will never grow, you're just holding on to a dead one. It's hard letting go of a friend, really, but people come and go in your life and you should be glad you had the chance to meet them. Trying to keep everyone you've ever met is plain selfish anyways because there is only so much of yourself you can share with everyone.
