Decent digital camera?

I would pretty much recommend a DSLR too, if possible. Save an extra couple hundred dollars and get it, even if you have to wait a bit more. It's worth every penny, and will come in handy for many occasions, regardless of whether you're looking for photography as a career or not. Provided you're not, go for a Canon XTi; or Nikon D40 if you must go cheaper. I've tested both, and I can say they're both wonderful. If you have some photo editing knowledge, you will get real amazing pictures.
