How long to paint 500 sq ft with 7' ceilings and over the basement steps? i didnt think 5 days!?

i was expecting a day or two. it seems rediculous for such a small space. first day one person, rest of the time two people. im really ingorant when it comes to this so any input would be appreciated. they are painting over painted drywall similiar color.
