Why hasn't learning about science made me agree with atheists more?

I have learned about science from non-religious sources, and this has led me to question atheists more, not less, concerning their objections to defenses of God's existence. They hypothesized and predicted that learning about science will get me to abandon theism, but that hypothesis is not supported and their prediction has failed. Is there any hope for me? Will I ever be saved from my oppressive religion?!!
