Why would a player "tank" the season?

Players don't tank games. They're out there to earn bigger contracts. Coaches (usually under the direction of higher powers) tank games by the players they leave in the game and the plays they call. That's the only reason Doc Rivers still has a job. He did what Danny Ainge told him to do. Any other coach would be gone after such a bad season. And look what happenned! Boston got screwed!!! Ha! Serves them right!
