With the way the world is going, can we be safe to say that our children will live to have kids of their own?

No it's not too late. Or it may be. But children is our heart's yearning for immortality so mother nature and our psyche are going to keep us having children. Plus, we dont' know what God has in store for us. Ultimately we just have to trust God.
